Little Wizard, touring their new album Little Wizard III, stopped by Shanghai’s YYT Kaixuan 5th September with support from 21 grams, bringing garage-based post-rock to a full house.
Watching Little Wizard was a journey through melodic segues and heavier full rock-out moments. This was a much anticipated show and a drew out a packed audience on a Sunday evening, so much so it was hard to find a spot in the intimate surroundings of YYT. There were math-rock moments and as well as driven 4/4 beats keeping the sound fresh when effects weren’t used. Overall, Little Wizard had the wherewithal to keep us entranced through the builds and a ready to rock on demand.

Local act 21 grams opened the night with lovely melodic highs and lows. The four piece act drew a large, expectant crowd and were the perfect fit as support for the headline act with touching moments in the music itself and through on-stage dedications.
